Caleb University Imota, Lagos hereby announces the appointment of Prof. Olalekan Usiobaifo Asikhia, a Professor of Business Administration and Marketing, as Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration’.

Prof. Olalekan Asikhia started his academic career at the University of Benin in 1987, where he studied Bio-Chemistry – Biostatistics. He then attended University of Lagos in 1993 for a Post Graduate Diploma course in Economics; an Institution he also earned a Master of Science (Economics) in 1995. 

He moved to Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye, where he obtained another Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1998. The erudite Scholar sojourned to the University of South Africa for his Doctorate in Business Leadership (Marketing and Strategic Management) in 2006; the same feat he achieved at the Masters level, where he bagged two degrees.

His insatiable quest for knowledge propelled him in 2020 to the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban South Africa, where he was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Entrepreneurial Management) – his second Doctorate degree. He was a Research Professor and Grant Winner (2014 – 2016) in Marketing and Strategy Area, Graduate School of Business Leadership, University of South Africa.

Prof Asikhia began his teaching career at Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye as Assistant Lecturer on August 16, 1999; he was promoted to Lecturer II in 2004. In 2007, he moved to the Private University Sector as Lecturer I; then was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010. He was appointed Unit Head, Industrial Relations and Human Resources, then Acting Head of Department, at Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State. Babcock University also offered him Assistant Professorship in 2012 and was promoted to Professor on New Year’s Day of 2014, where he was appointed Dean.

Erudite Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, possesses double Doctorates and double Masters degree. The new DVC Is a University Administrator with outstanding contributions to higher education, not only as an Economist, but also as an eminent Business Manager and Strategic Marketer. He is principled, and renowned for his work ethics. His resume and track record, show a distinguished scholar, an administrator, and a man of character, with a track record in research and education; development and innovation skills, that mirror what Caleb University represents.

He is a Professor of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Business Administration and Marketing, School of Management, Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, where he was former HOD and Acting Dean.

The new DVC is an industrious academic and researcher, having written, co-written, authored and edited numerous books across disciplines, reflecting his versatility from the academic field of Applied Sciences, to Humanities, Social Sciences and Commerce, recording over One hundred and three (103) publications. He has graduated over eighty-seven (87) doctoral candidates and twenty-four (24) master degree candidates. . He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing.

A responsible family man, a Pastor, an accomplished editor and researcher, whose  contributions as a Gospel drama evangelist -as one of the pioneers of Mount Zion Films-, which makes him a right fit in the learning and character mantra of Caleb University.
